As the global retort packaging market continues to expand, Flair Flexible Packaging is expanding its team to include one of the industry’s leading experts in the field of packaging films for retort products. William (Bill) Masterson brings over 20 years in packaging sales and project management, 15 of which were focused on working with customers developing and optimizing processes using peelable retort lidding, formable retort films, pre-made retort pouches, and die-cut foil lids.

Masterson’s background and experience is a perfect complement to Flair’s 25 years of packaging technology which he is eager to begin sharing with the retort industry throughout North America. “I feel honored to join Flair Flexible Packaging,” says Masterson. “The corporate culture is built around people with a ‘can-do and will-do’ attitude. Flair is well-organized, technically advanced, and possesses a broad range of proven capabilities upon which to grow.”

Masterson earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO, and his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from St. Louis University, St. Louis, MO. Throughout his tenure in the packaging industry, he has worked with a variety of manufacturers and suppliers across the United States and abroad, leveraging capabilities and building relationships that have yielded countless new project successes and millions in sales for his customers.

“With the global market for retort products expected to exceed $40 billion (USD) by 2020, Flair is pleased to have a specialist like Bill joining the team,” notes RJ Foster, Flair’s marketing communications specialist. “His uniquely focused background makes him extremely well suited to help retort product manufacturers find solutions they need to bring their products to the marketplace more quickly, safely, and effectively.”
