La Scolca, a premium wine producer is celebrating 99 years of winemaking in Gavi and is set to present a series of commemorative projects for next year’s milestone of 100 years, during the 52nd edition of Vinitaly in Verona on April 15 to 18.

La Scolca was the first local producer to recognize the potential of Cortese grape in the Gavi region, according to a release.
La Scolca’s Gavi dei Gavi presents a harmonious combination of heat and acidity with soft and fruity notes to finish.
"Most Gavis are best drunk young and paired with seafood. But La Scolca's D'Antan, which is aged for 10 years in stainless steel before bottling, develops toast, wax, iodine and mineral aromas and flavors not unlike a mature Champagne," says Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator.
