On September 14, Terlato Wines International will launch Giuliana Prosecco, an Italian Prosecco inspired by entertainment personality and restaurateur, Giuliana Rancic. Together Bill and Giuliana Rancic join forces with the Terlato Wine Group in this exciting new venture.

This DOC prosecco is made from 100 percent Glera grapes from Veneto, one of Italy’s premier wine-making regions. Born in Naples, Italy, Rancic says this wine pays homage to her roots — and that partnering with the Terlato family was a natural fit.

“I wanted to create an authentic Prosecco that honored my Italian heritage,” she says. “I also knew I wanted to partner with the Terlato family because of their role in bringing Italian wines to America. And for anyone who knows them, they’ll tell you that the Terlato name is synonymous with quality.”

Immigrating to the US from Italy at the age of 7, Giuliana (nee DePandi) learned the English language by watching television, primarily the evening news, before eventually becoming an E! News anchor herself.  Whether overcoming her cancer diagnosis or taking on many career roles as a media personality, author, editor, philanthropist or entrepreneur, Giuliana has faced all obstacles with an unwavering determination.  After a lifetime of growth and hard-earned success, she felt now was the right moment to commit to a project that anchored back to her roots.   Introducing Giuliana Prosecco, a sparkling wine that’s accessible enough to sip after a busy day, to celebrate a major milestone or to enjoy while getting red carpet ready.

Giuliana Prosecco is the first wine in a partnership between Terlato Wines and Bill and Giuliana Rancic, co-founders of Chicago-based RPM Restaurants, (part of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurant group). The flagship wine is the pinnacle of luxury, featuring modern, sleek packaging designed to appeal to an existing fan base that’s drawn to Rancic’s sophistication and sense of style.

To create this elegant yet accessible wine, Glera grapes are cold macerated, followed by natural fermentation in pressurized stainless-steel tanks for a month before bottling. This process creates soft, distinctive aromas and flavors, and offers a lasting perlage on the palate.

Giuliana Prosecco features an aroma of golden delicious apple, pear, and acacia blossom, with a fresh, fruity complexity on the palate and a light, velvety body.

This debut marks an entry into a rapidly growing segment of the sparkling wine category: prosecco appeals to wine lovers thanks in part to its relatively low alcohol content and approachable price point.

“Prosecco as a category has exploded in the US over the last few years and now makes up almost a third (31.5%) of US sparkling wine volume, surpassing Champagne” says Bill Terlato, CEO of Terlato Wines. “And we’ve seen from Giuliana’s effervescent red carpet coverage that no one grasps celebrations quite like her. We’re excited about our partnership and look forward to raising a glass to celebrate a collective success.”
