More and more U.S. breweries are prioritizing sustainability in their operations, Thrillist explains, including a shift to environmentally friendly packaging.

The article identifies five well known breweries across the country who are leading the way in this respect: Straub Brewery (St. Marys, PA); Bayern Brewery (Missoula, MT); Allagash Brewing (Portland, ME); Upslope Brewing (Boulder, CO); and Tree House Brewing (Charlton, MA).

Their sustainable packaging efforts include everything from reusable bottles, photodegradable six-pack rings, recycling co-ops and more.

To top it off, their bottom lines seem likely to remain unaffected. The article cites a 2018 study in which a majority of 1,000 consumers surveyed said they would be willing to pay an extra $1.30 per six pack for eco-friendly packaging. Cheers to that.
