The BoxMaker, a leader in digitally printed packaging solutions, has announced its purchase of an HP PageWide C500 Press.
Driven by the desire to consistently innovate, the C500 press allows The BoxMaker to meet the increasing needs of brands to engage consumers effectively with packaging as a marketing platform. The new press delivers offset quality print at mainstream production volumes, making the benefits of digital print available at scale. Installation of the new press begins this fall at the company’s manufacturing headquarters just outside of Seattle, Washington.
The addition of the industrial-scale HP PageWide C500 builds on the company’s seven-plus years of experience producing high-value digitally printed corrugated packaging, display, labels and more. The BoxMaker currently operates the Pacific Northwest’s highest-capacity Digital Production Center, which features two wide-format corrugated presses, one narrow-web digital press for labels and folding cartons, as well as digital finishing with fully automated CAD cutting tables.
Through partnerships with industry-leading hardware and software providers such as HP, Zünd, and ESKO, The BoxMaker is committed to remaining at the forefront of digital production for packaging. The purchase of the HP PageWide C500 Press reflects the company’s continued efforts to make investments that deliver a competitive edge to their clients.
With the HP PageWide C500 Press The BoxMaker will be able to digitally print corrugated orders of any size in offset quality, delivering sharp text and barcodes, smooth tone transitions and vivid colors, while expanding service for agriculture and specialty food and beverage brands thanks to HP’s food-safe water-based inks.
"Digital production enables our clients to leverage packaging and display to connect with their customers and enhance their brand in ways that are simply not feasible with analog print. The C500 amplifies The BoxMaker’s ability to support client needs by delivering all the benefits of digital print to orders of any quantity, with the added benefits of offset quality print and food-safe inks," says Richard Brown, President, The BoxMaker.
The HP PageWide C500 Press uses water-based food compliant inks and prints on both primary and secondary food packaging without an additional barrier, which can comply with even the most stringent global food safety regulations, including Nestlé guidance and Swiss Ordinance.
As an all-in-one packaging partner, The BoxMaker strives to provide custom solutions that amplify their clients’ people, processes, and brand. Digital print not only empowers brands to create total alignment between their marketing efforts and retail packaging and display, but also enhances their supply chain management and reduces waste. The company is currently focused on scaling their digital production offerings and capacity to meet these growing needs.
