Brand owners, designers, metal decorators and others attending MetPack can expect the INX International Ink Co. stand (3C15) to be one of the main attractions at the venue. The May 2-6 show at Messe Essen in Germany will provide a first look for many of the industry’s first and only 2-Piece Metal Color Catalog as part of INX Color Perfection. INX will also showcase the upgraded CP100 UV digital cylindrical printer, 2-piece, 3-piece and special effects ink systems, and the INX University educational platform.

INX Color Perfection helps bring standardization and education to the metal industry. It consists of powerful components, starting with the INX 2-Piece Metal Color Catalog and extending through to advanced digital proofing, best-in-class ink and color measurement software. The Color Catalog will be the industry’s first standard for 2-piece metal decorating and will contain more than 600 metal decorating colors with ink formulations that are supported by licensed software. MetPack attendees can pre-order the Color Catalog during the show.

Designers and decorators have the ability to access the same INX colors from the INX Metal Color Library, which will be available in today’s design programs. Renee Schouten, Director of Marketing for INX International Ink Co. says INX Color Perfection has many advantages that should be considered by MetPack attendees.

“The tools we offer are significant. The Color Catalog itself features an array of vivid colors printed on metal chips. This is important because currently, the only color standard options available to designers are on paper and color applications are sensitive to the substrate they are printed on. By using the INX 2-Piece Metal Color Catalog, users are able to choose INX colors that are a representation of what the metal print will look like. It takes away many of the questions from the entire process of selecting colors for metal products. Using the INX Color Catalog, you get accurate, consistent and reproducible color from concept to can. It will help brand owners, designers and decorators with lead times, which ultimately could mean lower costs, as well as time-to-market improvement.”

INX’s advanced CP100 UV digital cylindrical printer provides another option in the quest to get product to market quicker. Powered by JetINX Printhead Drive Electronics and Ink Recirculation systems and patented helical printing software, brand owners and designers can expect superior quality at very high speeds. Single or multi-color cost efficient short runs, proofs and prototypes can be produced in a matter of seconds, making it a great choice for direct-to-metal printing.

Schouten encourages MetPack attendees to make time and see a demonstration of the CP100. Along with a Roland VersaCAMM digital printer, she indicated decorators will have a better understanding of the many options they have to produce high quality, colorful digital prints on metal packaging.

INX will also exhibit their full line of best-in-class 2-piece, 3-piece and special effects ink systems that offer finishing characteristics to attract consumers’ attention. INX will feature a variety of special effects technologies, ranging from freshness indicators, photochromic sunlight inks and high velocity thermochromic ink, to thermo ink for tabs, crowns and closures, and reveal inks.

All of these solutions are supported by INX University, which supports metal decorating professionals with access to technical materials, diagnostics information and development topics. Schouten said customers could benefit in more ways than one.

“As the leader in metal decorating ink technology with a long history of evolutionary products and services, our knowledge and know-how of the metal decorating process is unmatched. We have a dedicated division to metal decorating, with application experts trained in all aspects of the decorating process who share their expertise with our customers. INX University helps by ensuring our customers and their employees are thoroughly trained and knowledgeable about their application. It’s a great tool that will provide them with basic education on decorator setup, to trouble-shooting guides to color education. There’s something for everyone at INX U.”

INX will have many ink experts on hand so make plans to stop by stand 3C15.
