Kiehl’s Teams up with Bright Pink

Limited-edition product will raise funds to help prevent and early detect breast and ovarian cancer.

Kiehl’s, since 1851, created the limited-edition Butterstick Lip Treatment Duo to raise funds for Bright Pink, the national non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. All 100% of the net profits, up to $25,000 from the sale of Kiehl’s limited-edition Butterstick Lip Treatment Duo will be donated to Bright Pink, the national non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.

In October, Kiehl’s will offer an incremental $25,000 donation via a social media campaign, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The limited-edition product includes Untinted and Simply Rose shades of its Butterstick Lip Treatment, a hydrating and smoothing balm, with SPF 25 sunscreen, offering up to 12 hours of hydration for chapped lips.

Justin’s Goes Nuts for Bees

Justin’s, maker of nut butters, nut butter snacks and organic peanut butter cups, announced a pledge, as part of its new corporate social responsibility campaign, to help restore, protect and conserve bees and other important pollinators. Launched at the Natural Products Expo West in March, Justin’s corporate social responsibility campaign will focus on creating awareness and educating consumers on pollinator decline by partnering with key players on the national, state and local level.

“Bees are responsible for 1 in 3 bites of food we eat, including almonds, honey and caca—three of my favorite forms of food,”  says Justin Gold, founder of Justin’s. “But with honey bees dying off at a rate of 44% per year, we can’t afford to sit idly.”

Justin’s is teaming up with The Xerces Society. Over the past four decades, The Xerces Society have focused on protecting endangered species and their habitats, produced groundbreaking publications on insect conservation, and trained thousands of farmers to protect and manage habitat. On the state level, Justin’s will support People and Pollinators Action Network (PPAN), a Colorado-based organization that works to promote sustainable agricultural practices and improve our environment by creating a movement to build community awareness, change policies and support best practices in pollinator conservation. In its own backyard in Boulder, CO, the food brand is joining forces with Growing Gardens, a local non-profit dedicated to enriching lives through sustainable, urban agriculture.
