Zünd Systemtechnik AG acquires Zund Plotting Systems

As of May 18, 2017, Zund Plotting Systems (UK) Ltd., located in St. Albans, England, has become a subsidiary of Zünd Systemtechnik AG. As an official distribution and service partner of Zünd Systemtechnik since 1993, Zund UK has been taking care of hundreds of satisfied Zünd customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

For more than 30 years, the Zünd name has stood for Swiss quality, innovation, and sustainability, with technologically advanced cutting systems tailored entirely to customer needs. In equal parts pioneer and market leader, Zünd continues raising the bar in the development and manufacturing of multi-functional cutters while looking back on its remarkably successful history. Subsidiaries in Hong Kong, India, Italy, Thailand, The Netherlands, and the United States, along with a network of resellers all over the world, are testimony to the global view of this Swiss manufacturer, proud of its roots in the Rhine Valley.

Following its acquisition, Zünd Systemtechnik AG welcomes Zund Plotting Systems (UK) Ltd. as a longtime reseller and distributor into the global family of Zünd companies. Zund UK will continue to serve the UK and Irish markets as in the past, but with the added benefit of being even more closely aligned with its parent company in terms of sales, service, and support of Zünd digital cutting systems. Tim Taylor, founder and Commercial Director of Zund UK, will remain with the company, heading up UK sales. As newly appointed Managing Director, Stuart Cole will be overseeing daily operations.

Following the announcement, Oliver Zünd, Zünd Systemtechnik AG CEO, states: “We are delighted to be able to welcome Zund Plotting Systems (UK) Ltd. to our global group of companies. Working closely with our newest subsidiary, we look forward to strengthening our position in the UK market and continuing to expand our customer base. This acquisition represents an important milestone in our company history, and we are proud to have our own representation in the United Kingdom moving forward. There is no doubt in my mind that, together with Zund Plotting Systems (UK)’s highly qualified and experienced staff, we will be able to offer our UK and Irish customers the best possible support, now and in the future.“

Adds Tim Taylor: “The acquisition of the company by Zünd Systemtechnik AG is the natural progression in a long and successful relationship between our two businesses. The additional resources Zünd Systemtechnik can provide will accelerate our growth and further integrate our customer support. At the same time, this secures our company’s future and lays the foundations for continued and sustainable development of Zund UK.”
