Hazen Paper “Arctic Blue” Wins AIMCAL 2020 Product of the Year

(PRESS RELEASE) For the third year in a row, Hazen Paper Company was awarded “Product of the Year” by the Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL). The 2020 honor was awarded for a transfer-metallized carton that featured custom holography, created for Nordic Premium Beverages’ Arctic Blue Gin. The Arctic Blue Gin carton was designed to capture attention in a crowded retail environment and stimulate engagement by replicating the awe-inspiring splendor of the northern lights. Custom Hazen Holography employed a sub-micron embossing grid in the transfer-metallized layer to reflect and refract light as the viewing angle changes and create a pulsating play of radiance and color. Fittingly, the material used to simulate an environmental phenomenon is environmentally friendly — Hazen Envirofoil uses less than 1% of the aluminum of traditional foil laminate and a recycled film carrier. The holographic Envirofoil was transfer-metallized onto MetsäBoard Pro FBB Bright paperboard, which was printed and converted by AM Lithography of Chicopee, MA.
