Target to test out loyalty card

Target will begin testing a loyalty card program in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas next month called “Target Red.”

The program gives members access to next-day delivery and half off Target’s standard $99 per year same-day delivery service.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the decision to begin the program came about as Target hit a plateau on Redcard sign-ups.

“We know not everyone wants another credit card,” says Joshua Thomas, a Target spokesman, “so we want to find a way to grow our relationship and affinity with those guests.”
