The Body Shop reveals latest eco-friendly effort

The Body Shop has made the decision to remove the plastic from its packaging–some of it, that is. 

According to a Huffington Post article, The eco-friendly chain–The Body Shop said Thursday, Jan. 28 that it plans to use “a special plastic composed of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere to make bottle lids.”

The goal is, by 2020, the new packaging will reduce the company’s use of plastics made by oil by 70 %. 

“It just kind of blew us away,” Simon Locke, an environmental sustainability executive who has spent a decade at the L’Oreal-owned retailer, told Huffington Post. “To me, it just shows you that the potential out there is huge.”
