Armstrong, a leading B2B branding and marketing agency, was recently appointed by Amari Plastics to refresh its brand and service its group marketing for the next two years. A recent project for Amari challenged the Armstrong team to develop a 3-D walkthrough of a passenger jet in order to show the ‘Amari effect’.

Amari Plastics PLC is a leading national supplier of products for the signs, display and graphics market, as well as the industrial, engineering, retail and commercial interiors sectors. As a key partner for 3M UK, it also supplies architectural and graphic films in addition to many of 3M’s aerospace tapes and adhesives.

In order to provide its brand with greater structure and focus so as to be better connect with its varied customer base, Amari consulted with leading UK B2B branding and marketing agency, Armstrong. This has led to Armstrong being appointed to refresh its brand and service its group marketing requirements for the next two years.

“Amari possesses a world leading product range, with the recent partnership with 3M demonstrating how important the varied customer base is. However, the vast portfolio of products wasn’t as well known as the company would like, lacking exposure to its customers and the wider market. For a business of Amari’s scale and extensive market presence, a high level of communication was required to ensure the Amari brand is recognized and recalled, so as to help maintain Amari’s position as market leader,” says Daniel Owen, director, Armstrong.

“We took a long hard look at the product range, the company’s values, core beliefs and value-add it provided to its customers. This enabled us to develop a new brand identity for Amari which we feel will help the company connect more favourably with its customers,” adds Daniel, who further states, “That wasn’t the end of our involvement, as Amari came back with another project, which was a real challenge.”

Following on from the successful brand launch, Armstrong was tasked with handling the communication of the Amari brand and extensive product/service offering at the annual APP Aero Alliance day. Held at 3M’s UK Headquarters, customers from all corners were invited for a series of hands on demonstrations and other activities during a packed day.

As 3M’s new UK distributor, the APP day was the perfect stage to show the breadth of products Amari Plastics supply to the aerospace industry. This proved quite an undertaking, as a major challenge for Amari has been in showing the wide variety of products supplied, covering almost all facets of the entire aircraft.

Daniel Owen explains; “What Amari essentially required was a way of showing the industry, and the industries customers, its impressive portfolio and where its products are located on an aircraft as they often cannot be seen. What Armstrong did was create a 3-D virtual reality experience of a passenger aircraft, enabling via a ‘walk-through’, for the viewer to experience just how much impact Amari and 3M products have.”

“By using the 3-D ‘walk-through’ model we were able to show the impact of the Amari/3M products, and the positive effect they have. Furthermore, we were able to show the impact of the Amari brand and the values it communicates both to its customers, and also to the airlines customers,” concludes Daniel.
