Hughes Design Group, a strategic brand and package design firm in Norwalk, CT, has named Jessie Lernmark to the position of VP, Marketing & Strategy. Lernmark will partner closely with the Hughes leadership team to further strengthen the firm’s insights and strategy capabilities. The focus on strategy will look to broaden the company’s portfolio of business and deepen existing relationships with an expanded offering of services. “I am thrilled to be joining forces with such a seasoned group of branding and design experts. Hughes has an enviable client roster and I look forward to further building the strategy practice to service them and our future clients,” states Lernmark.

Lernmark comes to Hughes Design Group with extensive experience in brand strategy, most recently at boutique West Coast consultancies Northbound Brand and Modo Group. While at Northbound, a start-up Lernmark joined in its infancy, Lernmark was integral in developing the strategy practice and growing the firm alongside the founders.

“We could not be more excited for Jessie to join our team. Her experience as a strategic brand advisor for some of the world’s best known brands is highly desirable in today’s ever changing market. Many of the high growth brands we partner with have a need for market insights, positioning and naming prior to a visual rebrand. Jessie will bring additional expertise to how we approach such challenges,” says Barney Hughes, president of Hughes Design Group.

Lernmark has spent her career in branding and marketing with focused experience in the beverage, technology and telecommunications categories. She has led the development of multiple brand, innovation and experience strategies for Microsoft, Starbucks, Sony Ericsson and T-Mobile as well as the Grupo Modelo beer portfolio including Corona Extra, Negra Modelo and Victoria. Prior to working at boutique firms, she honed her strategy craft at Fitch and Futurebrand.
